The Goulandris Natural History Museum is a private Foundation, established in 1964. Its aims are the research, the conservation and the protection of the natural environment.
Through environmental education and public awareness, it creates a new approach to the relationship of man and nature.

The GAIA Center houses the Exhibitions:
“Climate Change and Us” and “Earthquake at the Museum”
Also, at the GAIA Center, Film Screenings are held in the DOME and the 360-degree immersive spectacle on climate change “Facing the Truth”.
The Museum Entrance Ticket changes during the period when the GAIA Center will remain closed (till October 31st 2023).

The Geology / Paleontology Room of the Museum will remain closed until the end of 2023, due to the operation of a Temporal Exhibition, which will open in July 2023.
The Museum Shop remains open
Electronic Ticket Issuance
Electronic ticketing is suspended till October 31st, 2023. From November 1st, 2023, it will return to use again.

The GNHM has two virtual tour applications, one for the Natural History Museum and one for its Branch in the island of Crete, the Mastaba Paleontological Museum of Rethymnon, which cover the full range of the two Museums’ Permanent Exhibitions.
The innovative design of applications, in addition to user-friendly digital navigation, includes ‘windows’ with points of interest that the interested party can choose to navigate further, in close-up visual material, narration of information and subtitles.
