It contains historical data on Greek forests with descriptions of various forest ecosystems. Annales Musei Goulandris
The Museum’s scientific journal. It is a scientific edition that is published periodically by the Goulandris Natural History Museum since 1973, and is being exchanged with approximately 1280 scientific publications worldwide. Its first editor was Professor Werner Greuter (1973-76), who was succeeded by Professor William T. Stearn (1976-1999). The publication is supervised by V. Koussoula. So far 10 volumes have been published. Its subjects are Botany, Zoology, Marine Biology, Palaeontology, Geology and Ecology. It contains scientific papers by the Museum’s collaborators and by foreign scientists, on subjects dealing with the area of the Mediterranean. There have been published 11 volumes so far.

Shells from the Greek SeasMarianne Delamotte and E. Vardala-Theodorou
This 320 page publication presents shells from Greek coasts. It contains 330 illustrations and descriptions and an index of 940 species living in Greece. Special chapters provide data on the morphology, physiology, anatomy and location of those organisms in the sea environment as well as data on collecting and conservation of sea shells and their relationship with man. It also includes charts, linear drawings, sketches and X-Rays of shells. The Greek version is out of print

Wild Flowers of GreeceConstantine Goulimis Published in English. Out of print. Contains 114 illustrations of wildflowers by Niki Goulandris. The texts on the wildflowers are by the amateur botanist and collector Constantine Goulimis and the scientific supervision is by W.T. Stearn. This edition contains the taxonomic and historical study of the species ‘Peony’ in Greece with 15 colour illustrations by Niki Goulandris and 37 sketches by V. Koussoula. The book presents the genus Peony in a historic course of three millennia from ancient Greek myths and references to Hesiode and Homer, on Botany, Pharmacology and Medicine with Hippocrates, Theophrastus, Dioscurides and Plinius, until modern times. 130 pages.

It is the first systematic presentation of all the reptiles found in Greece and Cyprus. It is a manual for the identification of all the species, some of which are rare. For the first time, most local names are mentioned. The book also includes references to many local traditions concerning reptiles. It contains 39 identification tables, 110 colour photographs of reptiles and biotopes, as well as numerous detailed sketches.

This 450 page book is the second, revised edition of the lexicon of Greek birds published by the Museum in 1988. As in the first edition, it contains all scientific and popular names of birds. The species of birds are presented in genuses and families. The book also contains sketches and colour plates presenting the following groups: endangered, extinct, rare visitors, huntable and protected.

Flora GraecaSibthorp, Smith
A portfolio from the Flora Graeca of Sibthorp-Smith. In 1784 the British explorer John Sibthorp traveled to Greece accompanied by the botanical painter Ferdinand Bauer. The famous publication ‘Flora Graeca’ (1806-1840) with 1.000 illustrations of plants in unique lithographs was the outcome of the exhibition. The Museum presents in a specially illustrated portfolio 4 of these plants, in a limited-edition. (50x35cm).

Map Of Greece
A unique map showing accurately and in detail the relief, not only of the terrestrial, but also of the marine space of Greece. The main edition is 1:500.000. Besides the main edition of the relief map, a corresponding flat map has been created and is for sale. It is in the same scale and its dimensions are 1,10x 1,10 cm.
