Information is also being provided to the public and the relevant stakeholders on biodiversity issues. Laboratory research includes trophic and morphometric analysis, study of thermal and reproduction ecology, as well as preventive conservation and management of museum collections.

The activities of the Entomological Department began in 1971. The Entomological Collection consists of approximately 40.000 specimens. About 16.000 specimens have been recorded in a database, 1.250 of them have been digitized.
