On Saturday, June 5, 2021, <\/span><\/strong>, World Environment Day, the Award Ceremony <\/span><\/strong>of the Panhellenic Painting Competition “Niki Goulandris” with the theme “Greek Wildflowers” took place in the Museum\u2019s garden.<\/strong><\/div>\n

During the event that was dedicated to the memory of the co-founder of our Museum late Nikis Goulandris, twelve talented elementary school students were awarded.The winners, from schools of Attica, Thessaloniki, Viotia, Lesvos, Santorini and Lefkada, received their awards from the Minister of Culture and Sports, Mrs. Lina Mendoni.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Minister was guided to the Exhibitions and Laboratories of the GNHM by the Head of Collections, Dr. Maria Dimaki<\/strong> and the Head of the Botany Laboratory Dr. Dionysis Mermyga<\/strong>. She was also informed by the Head of Education of GAIA Center, Mrs. Nafsika Papavlasopoulou<\/strong>, about the New Permanent Exhibition of the GAIA<\/strong> center, which is to be completed at the end of the year, the SPHERE<\/strong> and the Dome of Projections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All students and their families were also guided to the Exhibitions and Laboratories of the Museum by the Head of Education of the Museum and Head of the Competition, Mrs. Lily Iakovidou-Alevra<\/strong>, the Head of the Botanical Laboratory Dr. Dionysis Mermyga and Mrs. Katerina Giataganaki, executive of the Education Department of the Museum<\/p>\n

The event took place under the strict observance of all health restrictions, for all present parties: the winner students accompanied by members of their familie<\/strong>s, members of the Board. of the GNHM, the organizing and judging committee of the competition, as well as GNHM executives.<\/p>\n
