Over 10,000 species occurring in Greece were assessed according to the criteria and specifications of the IUCN.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Dimaki contributed in the projec<strong><span style=\"color: #4f4a4a;\">t by assessing 12 species of reptiles (four species of lizards and eight species of snakes).<\/span> <\/strong>Among them, the two species of chameleon present in Greece <strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">(Common chameleon and African chameleon)<\/span><\/strong> were classified as endangered. The African Chameleon (Chamaeleo africanus), was singled out and a short video was produced, <strong><span style=\"color: #4f4a4a;\">now displayed on screens at the Athens Metro stations.<\/span><\/strong> The Anatolian rock lizard (Anatololacerta anatolica), a species found only on Samos and Ikaria in our country, <strong><span style=\"color: #4f4a4a;\">was classified as Near Threatened.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Large photo:<\/span> <\/strong>African Chameleon (Chamaeleo africanus). Found only in the western Peloponnese. Classified as Endangered (EN).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Small photo:<\/span><\/strong> Anatolian rock lizard (Anatololacerta anatolica).
