On Wednesday, May 15th, 2024<\/strong>,<\/span> the Judging Committee of the 3rd Panhellenic Pupils\u2019 Painting Competition “Niki Goulandris”<\/span> titled “A shell at the bottom of the sea”<\/span> chose the 12 best paintings.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The competition worked through School Units <\/span><\/strong>and was addressed to Primary Education pupils.<\/p>\n

Its goals were for pupils:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> to observe<\/span> <\/strong>the special characteristics and the beauty of shells<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> to become familiar<\/span><\/strong> with these organisms and get informed about their presence in Greece or abroad<\/p>\n

\u00b7 to discover<\/span> <\/strong>the biodiversity of shells<\/p>\n

In total, 181 schools participated from all over Greece, with 3,366 entries<\/span> <\/strong>from all grades of Primary Education.<\/p>\n

The Museum organized an award ceremony (4 prices per age level)<\/span> <\/strong>in the Museum’s garden on Sunday, June 2nd, <\/span><\/strong>during the celebration of World Environment Day.<\/span><\/p>\n

The awards were presented by the President of ICOM (International Council Of Museums), Mrs. Teti Hatzinikolaou.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The 12 awards were received by:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

First level
\n<\/span><\/strong>1rst + 2nd grades (6 \u2013 7 years)<\/p>\n

Second level
\n<\/span><\/strong>3rd + 4th grades (8 \u2013 9 years)<\/p>\n

Third level<\/span><\/strong>
\n5th + 6th grades (10 \u2013 11 years)<\/p>\n

Also, the judging committee of the Museum assigned 63 commendations to pupils from all over Greece,<\/span><\/strong> for their excellent work.<\/p>\n

The next competition for the school year 2024 – 2025 will be announced shortly!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

All pupils who sent their shell to the Museum received a certificate of participation, via their school email address on June 7, 2024.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Congratulations again to all the children who participated!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
