Exhibition “Climate change and us”

For the first time in the history of the planet, humans have such a decisive role in changing the climate. Climate change is today the most important environmental challenge. It already affects the way we live and puts at risk the future of ecosystems and societies.

Info

The first interactive exhibition on climate change at the GAIA Centre

The exhibition “Climate Change and Us” was designed to highlight the causes and consequences of the phenomenon, but also the choices we have at our disposal. Its aim is understanding, awareness, and preparation for the changes to come.

WHAT IS CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change means alterations in average conditions and long-term weather phenomena of a region over time.

The main impacts are:

Rise in temperature, melting of ice, rise of sea levels
More intense extreme weather events
Desertification of soils
Losses in biodiversity
Direct and indirect impacts on health

This rapid change is mainly due to the intensification of the greenhouse effect, caused by the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and other human activities.
