THE GOULANDRIS NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM MOURNS THE LOSS OF PRESIDENT NIKI GOULANDRIS

Niki Goulandris, a prominent Greek philanthropist, environmentalist and accomplished botanical painter who co-founded the Goulandris Natural History Museum (GNHM) in Athens, died on Saturday 9 February 2019, aged 94. Her funeral was held on February 12, at the Church of Agios Dimitrios in the northern suburb of Kifisia.

Realization in the next two years
The Goulandris Natural History Museum in collaboration with Mellon Technologies, having submitted a funding request to the Call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE and having completed the procedure for the integration of the Proposal, shall commence in the next two years the realization of the Project “IMA: Innovative Museum Applications”, aiming to upgrade the visitor’s experience and to reform the Museum’s operations.

The Goulandris Natural History Museum (GNHM) is a private, non profit institution. It consists of a 5-member Board of Directors, permanent scientific, managerial and technical staff and is supported by special scientific advisors in the fields of science and education. The Goulandris Natural History Museum was the first museum of its kind to be established in (1964), and the first to initiate environmental education in the country. The English version of the site is under construction and will function soon!
