WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

World Environment Day is a day of self-awareness for humanity and a day of responsibility for those in power.
The national identity and strength of every country should not be limited only to its geopolitical integrity and defensive power, but should also encompass the biological and natural wealth of its forest, marine, and agricultural ecosystems.
Our Museum, now officially the National Museum of Natural History of Greece, calls upon us today more than ever to reflect on our relationship with nature and to seek ways to bridge the gap that has been created between humankind and the natural environment.
Let us strive for a new ethic, founded on peace and global cooperation, on culture, and on the urgent need to restore humanity’s balance with Nature.
