March is considered a month of renewal for the garden, as the spring sowing season begins. Milder temperatures and longer daylight hours help seeds germinate more easily.
During this time, vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, eggplant, corn, peppers, and carrots are sown, along with fruits like watermelon. Aromatic plants such as rosemary and oregano are also cultivated, while trees like lemon trees can be planted as well.
In protected environments, more delicate ornamental plants can also be started, such as petunias, snapdragons, and freesias.
