Starting the New Growing Season
February is the month that marks the beginning of preparation for the spring growing season. Although winter has not yet passed, many seeds can be successfully sown, either in protected environments or directly in the ground, depending on weather conditions.
This month, we can sow vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants, carrots, beetroots, and spring onions, giving the plants the time they need to develop properly. At the same time, it is an ideal period for sowing aromatic herbs such as parsley and rosemary, which will add aroma and flavor in the months ahead.
February is also suitable for ornamental plants, such as petunias, roses, and snapdragons, as well as for sowing or preparing trees like apple and chestnut trees.
With proper care, good-quality soil, and protection from the cold, February sowing lays the foundations for a healthy and productive garden. Now is the time to get started!
