SOWING IN OCTOBER

Below you will find a list of plants you can sow during October. Among the plants we eat are cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, radish, spring onion, chicory and arugula . Among the plants we smell: garlic. Among the decorative plants: anemone, freesia, tulip, pansy and hyacinth. This is a photo of the wonderful freesia you can sow this month!

THE 12 PRIZES OF THE PUPILS’ PAINTING COMPETITION “NIKI GOULANDRI” ENTITLED “A SHELL AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA”

On Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, the Judging Committee of the 3rd Panhellenic Pupils’ Painting Competition "Niki Goulandris" titled "A shell at the bottom of the sea" chose the 12 best paintings. The competition worked through School Units and was addressed to Primary Education pupils.

The Conference titled “Net-Zero and Climate-Resilient Shipping: Can Greece Lead the Race?” organized by the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, the UNSDSN Global Climate Hub, and the AE4RIA initiative, was held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Goulandris Museum of Natural History, under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy.

Below you will find a list of plants you can sow during March. Among the plants we eat: Corn, Tomato, Carot, Beetroot, Eggplant, Leek, Spring Onion, Zucchini, Grean Beans and Melon, Among the plants we smell: Rosemary, Oregano, Parsley, Dill, Basil and Lavender. Among the flowering plants: Petunia.

3rd BOTANICAL PAINTING WORKSHOP AT SPAROZA GARDEN

On Saturday 9th March 2024, we hosted at Sparoza Estate the third of our Botanical Painting workshops with the artist Matina Galati. The purpose of the workshops is to encourage visitors to immerse themselves in the garden over the course of a morning, spending time observing the plants really closely and creating beautiful botanical paintings en plein air!
